Restaurant & Tasting Room
A destination in the heart of Ohio, Hans’ Place opened in 2018 as part of Broad Run Corner. It’s where everything comes together to offer a place to enjoy a meal, a glass of wine and live music.
With the same charm as the rolling hills in France’s famous vineyards and the lush countryside in California’s Napa Valley, Hans’ Place has its own allure—and a place where wine takes center stage with on-site wine production and a tasting room. The bucolic surroundings at the gateway of Amish Country makes for the perfect setting for this charming restaurant with adjacent winery and cheesehouse.
Named after the family’s patriarch, Hans Schindler, the business is now run by second- and third-generation family members who are both cheesemakers and winemakers.
OUR FOOD
Fresh. Tasty. Hearty. From fresh—never frozen—burgers, to crisp salads and homemade soups, you will find an appreciable menu selection. And as you would expect from a restaurant located next to a cheesehouse, there is cheese aplenty on the menu. One of the favorites is the homemade fried cheesesticks—with a twist. Instead of the traditional appetizer filled with Mozzarella cheese, we use Swiss, Cheddar and Hot Pepper cheeses.
SWISS HERITAGE WINES
Sample Swiss Heritage Winery’s 20-plus wine varietals as we offer tastings in four or six flights, poured with two ounces. In addition to white, red, blush and fruit wines, try our sangria and wine slushies or grab a beer.

The bucolic surroundings at Broad Run Corner make for the perfect setting for this charming restaurant with adjacent winery and cheesehouse.
In the winter, cozy up next to the indoor fireplace or take a seat in the tasting room surrounded by wine tanks; and in spring, summer and fall enjoy outdoor dining at its best. With an expansive patio and five other levels of decks wrapping around the property, you feel like you are sitting in a tree house in a faraway resort. The patio restaurant affords 360-degree views of the pond and cascading waterfall with a canopy of twinkling lights intertwined among treetops at night. You can dine on the expansive patio or in a shaded, secluded deck with a table for two. Or just stop in to sample and sip our wine we make on-site.
EVENTS & LIVE ENTERTAINMENT
Stop in for live music every Saturday night from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and on select Fridays.
We can also host private parties—from small weddings, reunions and any family celebration. We would love to share our place with your family!
